Eight Threads Pty Ltd ("8threads", "we", "us") is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

1. Information we collect

Contact details (name, business name, email, phone, billing address), the content of messages, quote requests, order requests and reviews you send through this website, project content you share with us, payment details processed by our payment provider, and standard technical logs (IP address, browser, pages visited).

2. How we use it

To respond to enquiries, prepare quotes and invoices, provide and support our services, send service notices, publish reviews you have given us permission to publish, protect this website from spam and abuse, and meet our legal obligations (tax, record-keeping, anti-fraud).

3. Website forms

Messages sent through our contact, quote, order and review forms are stored securely in our website database and emailed to our team. We record the sender's IP address to block spam and abuse. Your email address is never published with a review.

4. Disclosure & subprocessors

We share personal information only with subprocessors required to run our services: our website host, Australian data centre providers, payment processors, email anti-spam providers, and Microsoft (for Dynamics 365 Business Central). We do not sell personal information.

5. Data location & security

Email and backup data is stored on Australian infrastructure by default. We use TLS in transit, encrypted backups, role-based access controls and audit logging. Staff access to the website database is password-protected and limited to people who need it.

6. Retention

Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to respond and for our business records. Active customer data is retained while your account is open. Financial records are kept for 7 years (ATO requirement). Backups roll off on a 30-day cycle unless your plan states otherwise.

7. Your rights

You may request access to or correction of your personal information, ask us to remove a review, or lodge a complaint about how your information is handled, by emailing info@8threads.com.au. If you are not satisfied with our response you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

8. Cookies & local storage

We use one essential session cookie to keep forms secure and to keep staff signed in, and your browser's local storage to remember the contents of your cart. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address. If we enable website analytics, it is used only in aggregate to improve the site. You can disable cookies in your browser; some features may not work without them.

What personal information do you collect?

We collect information you provide directly — name, business name, email, phone, billing address — plus standard server logs (IP, browser, pages visited). For email customers we also process the data you store on our infrastructure on your behalf.

How do you use my information?

To deliver and support the services you've requested, send service notices and invoices, respond to enquiries, and comply with Australian tax and record-keeping laws.

Do you share data with third parties?

Only with subprocessors needed to run the services you use — for example data centre providers in Australia, payment processors, and Microsoft for Dynamics 365 BC tenants. We do not sell personal information.

Where is my data stored?

Email and backup data is stored on Australian infrastructure by default. Dynamics 365 BC data is stored in the Microsoft region you select (typically Australia East/Southeast).

How do I access, correct or delete my data?

Email info@8threads.com.au with your request. We will verify your identity and respond within 30 days, in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

How long do you retain data?
